This week’s topic is a heavier one. But I think it’s a question worth asking ourselves.

Fear of failure is an ever-present mountain that I’m always struggling to climb. If I tried to list every thing I didn’t try because I was afraid to fail, well, we’d be here all week. *^_^*
But a few years ago I realized something. Failure is important. We learn so much by screwing up and making mistakes! Maybe it’s a small lesson, like learning that clothes left in the washer will become mildewy and stinky. Or maybe it’s a much harder one, like learning to be compassionate. (Those lessons tend to hurt, as we usually only feel compassion *after* we’ve experienced the same pain.)
Failure is an unkind tutor, but whether we heed the lesson or not is up to us.
That’s what I tell myself, at least. *^_^* It’s still REALLY hard to be bold and take risks. I would much rather succeed, please!
